Users will be able to subscribe to up to 40 popular channels such as ITV, Discovery and Eurosport individually, without paying for a bundle.
The move is competition for rival services [/sciencetech/netflix/index.html Netflix]and pay-TV operators such as Sky.
A similar service is already operating in the US.
